In the workshop you will learn how to completely cover the warp with the weft and weave neat, straight edges. We’ll look at combining different yarns to create colour blends, create patterns using hatching and pick-and-pick, and weave shapes.
The goal of the workshop is for you to try as many techniques as possible and create a tapestry “sampler”, rather than weave a specific image.
Instruction will be given on how to take your tapestry off the loom at the end of the class, but you are not expected to completely finish your tapestry in the workshop.
There will be plenty of time for one-on-one teaching as well as opportunities for Christabel to answer any weaving questions.

The workshop will take place at Lois Gunn Studio & Shop in Woodbridge, Suffolk.
The shop is a short walk up the hill from Woodbridge train station. Parking is available at the station car park.
There are regular trains running from London Liverpool Street, and the journey time to Woodbridge is about an hour and a half.
